So it’s no wonder that parents are setting their alarms for this bank holiday weekend, for a deal which will see them get an entire FREE Squishmallow.

News of the offer was shared on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, with one person writing: “Starting tomorrow in The Entertainer.

“Free Squishmallow with every purchase over £25. Selected smaller ones only.”

The deal is available online and in store, but excludes Tesco concessions.

What to watch out for when buying toys online

HERE are the British Toy and Hobby Association’s top tips for buying toys online:

  1. Shop early. Don’t leave ourchases to the last minute rush which might leave you fewer options of where to buy from.
  2. Check out third-party sellers. Look for sellers you recognise and trust. Be cautious of retailers you don’t know and do your research checking reviews and where they’re based.
  3. Go for branded toys. Try and choose a branded toy as then you can compare it to the manufacturer’s own website to check it’s legit.
  4. Be careful of going for the cheapest price. If something looks too good to be true, it probably is.
  5. Check if there are any age restrictions. Make sure you give suitable toys to children based on their age.
  6. Check reviews carefully. Some reviews are fake so look carefully at the comments.
  7. Stay with children at first. When your child opens a toy for the first time, stay with them and check for faults, detachable small parts, access to stuffing and loose or accessible batteries or magnets.

And customers can take advantage of the offer from now until Monday 6th May at 23.59.

You can choose from selected 7.5 inch Squishmallows for free, and the deal is applicable to all transactions over £25 (excluding gift cards).

“I don’t even need to buy another teddy,I could buy other stuff and get a free one lol,” one person pointed out in the comments section of the Facebook post.

“This is an offer!” another raved.

“Errrmm think we need to go,” a third wrote, tagging a pal.

“The selected smaller ones look mostly like the 90p ones that are selling off in Asda stores, in case anyone just wants the Squishmallows,” someone else pointed out.

I get shamed for my ‘childish’ hobby – it costs me £4.8k so far but helps me bond with my husband

As another commented: “On the late May Bank Holiday weekend there is events in store including free face painting on the Saturday.

“I believe this is every store!”

The Squishmallows deal is also available if you do a Click and Collect order, and you can choose your freebie when you pick your items up.

However, if for any reason you need to return your item/s for a refund, you will have to return the free Squishmallow too.

Squishmallows were launched back in 2017, and there are now thousands of designs.

Each colourful character has a unique name and biography – making them even more appealing to collectors, who often pay a LOT more than the retail price on sites such as eBay or Vinted.
