Nadia Sawalha’s sister Julia hits out at her for ‘lying’ and ‘destroying' their family

Julia slammed her older sibling in a Twitter rant, where she accused her of talking “rubbish” and trying to get “sympathy and attention”.

The Absolutely Fabulous actress hit out after Nadia discussed their “volatile relationship” on a special episode of Loose Women on Monday.

Julia vented online: “So tired of #nadiasawalha talking about our ‘stormy’ relationship which she created.

“I’ve kept my privacy for 6 years to protect my family, whilst she talks lies & rubbish.”

She added: “You have destroyed our family so don’t sit on TV with your fake tears to gain sympathy & attention.”

Responding to fans online, Julia said she has had “enough” and wanted to get her point across online.

Julia added: “Yes well it’s very difficult when you only see the story from one side. I’m not actually fighting, she is, but paints a very different picture publicly and I’ve had enough”

The star, who played Saffron Monsoon in Absolutely Fabulous, responded to fans on Twitter who commented on her messages.

After one person said hopefully they will sort things out, Julia replied: I know, just watching 6 years of her lies finally got to me, which of course is just what she wants, more attention. Thank you for your understanding.”

In another tweet Julia admitted her “pressure cooker blew today” as she thanked a fan for their “understanding”.

A third applauded Julia for speaking out, to which she saidL “Thank you, it took a lot of deliberating and my dear boyfriend putting up with my sadness for too too long. Thank you for saying that, it means so so much to me.x”

While one fan suggested Julia should show her sister “unconditional love” to help their relationship, the actress said she had “tried” but it “made it even worse”.

On Loose Women on Monday, Nadia spoke opened up about her family in a special segment celebrating the ITV show’s 20th anniversary.

The ITV presenter addressed her rise to fame and her family where she reflected on her relationship with her sisters, Dina and Julia.

Nadia got chocked up as she discussed her “volatile relationship” with Julia.

“She’s really amazing my younger sister but we’ve always had a really volatile relationship so we’ve always had periods of time in our life where we don’t speak,” she told her fellow panelists.

“I always say I have the best times or the worst times of my life with her and it’s the same with both my sisters.”

“My dad always says ‘formidable women’, that’s all he wanted,” Nadia said. “He wanted to come to this country, he came to the country with 50 quid in his pocket and he came here because he wanted to have six daughters who could be free.”

She explained: “His sister was married at 14. He said, ‘I want strong independent professional women that follow their dreams.’

“And what he got was three really independent daughters, three very difficult women. Because of that we have a very tense, on and off relationship.”

Loose Women airs on ITV from 12.30pm weekdays.
