Love Island fans lose the plot after Luke T asks 21-year-old Siannese if she was named after Adele

Tonight (January 26)’s episode of Love Island definitely had its share of WTF moments: Siannese and Rebecca’s explosive fight by the fire pit, not to mention the shock reveal that either Sophie or Connor will be voted off the Island by their own fellow contestants.

But a comment that definitely has had audiences screaming from their sofas is Luke T’s seemingly-innocent but ultimately misguided question for Siannese about her middle name.

The duo shared a flirty conversation about each other’s surnames and middle names. When Siannese told Luke that her middle name was Adele, Luke’s immediate reaction was to ask: ‘Is your mum a fan of Adele?’

Now we can see why his brain initially flipped to Adele – she is one of the most famous musicians and women in the world – but, obviously, something doesn’t add up here, and fans took to Twitter to point it out.

Because, after all, Adele got famous for her debut album 19 back in 2008 – during which time Sophie would have been roughly nine years old. So we would assume that her mum (regardless of whether she is an Adele fan) named Siannese WAY before Adele was a huge mega star. Obviously.

One concerned fan posed the question: ‘Does… does Luke T think Siannise is 12 years old?’, while another posted ‘Luke T is thick as pig s**t. He actually thought Siannise was named after Adele who’s about 5 years older than her?’

Of course, that’s not the only drama that kicked off in Luke T’s name tonight. Both Siannese and Rebecca (who is currently coupled up with Luke T) let their frustration with each other known at an explosive showdown by the fire pit.

Unimpressed at Rebecca’s failure to be clear about her intentions with Luke T, Siannese calls her out on it. The girls fail to come to an agreement over who was in the wrong, with Rebecca throwing a personal blow at Siannese by saying: ‘it’s not my fault you haven’t clicked with anyone’.

Siannese is left upset at this comment, and Luke T comforts her while she sheds a few tears.

Will the girls work it out? Will Luke T shift his affections?

Love Island continues daily, at 9pm, on ITV2.
