Ibrahima Konate has already joined Jurgen Klopp’s side to fill the gaping hole at defence, which severely impacted the Reds in the campaign just gone.
But recruits are also needed in midfield, with Gini Wijnaldum leaving Anfield this summer on a free transfer.
The back-ups to Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah also failed to fire, with Klopp’s attacking options set to be upgraded in the upcoming window.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up the latest Liverpool transfer news…
Bissouma stance ‘confirmed’
Liverpool were one of the teams thought to be interested, with a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum required in midfield.
But despite Bissouma’s stand-out performances for the Seagulls, it appears that the Reds are no long considering a move for the Malian.
That is according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano who reports that while he has been scouted, no bids have yet been submitted by Liverpool for the 24-year-old.
“Talking about Liverpool, they are scouting him because they consider him an interesting player for the future, but there are no bids, no negotiations from Liverpool,” he told the Here We Go podcast.
“At the moment he is not the main target, they are not working to sign Bissouma; scouting the player is one thing, signing the player is another thing. They are not working on signing Bissouma.”
Liverpool lose Saul race
It appears that Liverpool have lost the race to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez, with the Spaniard reportedly opting to join Bayern Munich.
Saul has been a key player under Diego Simeone and made 41 appearances in all competitions as Atletico won the La Liga title.
He found it difficult to show his best form, culminating in an omission from the Spain squad for Euro 2020, with Atletico believed to be ready to sell him this summer.

But Marca now claim that Bayern Munich have won the race to complete a transfer for the midfielder.
They state that Saul will move to the Allianz Arena this summer for a fee in the region of £68million, with Atletico confident the deal will be completed soon.
