The Masked Singer season two 'just days away from being announced'

The Masked Singer season two is ‘just days away from being announced’ – after the quirky reality show proved a ratings success for Channel 10

Only two episodes have aired, but Australians are already fascinated with Channel 10’s The Masked Singer.

And according to NW Magazine, the network already has plans for a second season.

Channel 10 will supposedly announce season two in the coming days, and judge Dannii Minogue has already gone on record saying she will be returning.

‘We’d definitely be keen to return’, Dannii told NW. ‘We’ve all said we’d be very up for coming back soon and doing another series.’

‘It would be amazing and I don’t think any of us would hesitate,’ they added.

Despite Dannii’s enthusiasm, a question mark still hovers over Lindsay Lohan, whose involvement in the show has been controversial.

The American actress was mocked by fans for seemingly ‘not recognising’ the first two celebrities when they were unmasked.

Gretel Killeen was unveiled as The Octopus during episode one, while Australian cricket legend Brett Lee was revealed as The Parrot during episode two.

On both occasions, Lindsay appeared more confused than surprised.

The quirky show, which originated from South Korea, has been a lifeline for Channel 10, which looked set to end the ratings year in fourth place behind Seven, Nine and the ABC until last week.

The Masked Singer topped the ratings last Monday and Tuesday with 1.162 million and 1.054 million metro viewers respectively.

The Masked Singer Australia continues Monday and Tuesday night 7:30pm.
