Lleyton Hewitt’s son Cruz is proving to be a chip of the old block. 

The 11-year-old proudly showed off a trophy after winning a tennis tournament over the weekend in Melbourne

The budding sports star shared a number of snaps of himself to Instagram, holding the gold cup while posing with his tennis ace father.

Cruz beamed as he held the award while his famous father put an affectionate arm around his son’s shoulders. 

‘Inspired by the Australian boys at the Australian Open this week,’ Cruz captioned the series of three snaps. 

He went on to explain he had just won the Title Town trophy in the Melbourne suburb of Glen Iris. 

Cruz then posed solo in front of the tennis court in his tennis sweats.

Later, he also posed with tennis player Jaymon Crabb, who also put his arm proudly around the shoulders of the up-and-coming player.  

Cruz is the of Lleyton’s three children with former Home and Away star Bec Hewitt. They also share 14, Cruz and youngest Ava, 9.  

Sandy-haired Cruz is a promising tennis player and his Instagram is littered with photos of himself training and playing in tournaments.

The young player took part in the Australian Open playoffs in December, with doting  dad Lleyton watching from the sidelines. 

The up-and-coming tennis star was even seen replicating his dad’s signature fist pump during the intense match.   

Lleyton has previously spoken about his high hopes for Cruz’s tennis career, believing he’ll be playing in the Australian Open by the time he’s 14.

He’s also said he hopes his son goes even further than he did during his stellar tennis career, which spanned 18 years.

‘Hopefully he gets a chance to play in this great event [the Australian Open] if he wants to,’ Lleyton said during the Australian Open in January, as reported by Woman’s Day magazine. 

‘Hopefully he beats me.’
