Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker remained in 4,406 theaters, earning a solid per-screen average of $16,341 in its second weekend, dropping 59.4% from last weekend’s $177.3 million debut.

Its domestic haul is now at $361.8 million, with an additional $363 million from foreign territories for $704.3 million worldwide.

While it’s already the eighth highest grossing movie of the year at the domestic box office after just two weeks, its 10-day haul is still behind its two predecessors.

2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens earned $540 million after 10 days in theaters, while 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi earned $368.1 million over the same period.

Still, The Rise of Skywalker will likely continue to climb up the domestic charts, where it will likely land in third place at the domestic box office.

It seems unlikely that it will be able to surpass the top two movies of the year, The Lion King ($543.6 million) and Avengers: Endgame ($858.3 million).

Cats’ second weekend haul of $4.8 million brings its lackluster domestic tally to $16.3 million, with a worldwide haul of $36.9 million.

Deadline reports that if Cats doesn’t reach at least $100 million worldwide ($40 million domestic, $60 million abroad), which appears unlikely after the first two weeks, it will lose at least $71 million.

Those figures are based on the estimated $90 million budget plus a global publicity and advertising spend of roughly $115 million.
