They first met in Australia in 2010 after she won I’m A Celebrity, before going on to officially date six years later.

And Stacey Solomon has detailed the moment she shared her first kiss with Joe Swash, and it was awkward to say the least.

The Loose Women star, 30, joked she felt like she was being ‘attacked’ as the former EastEnders actor, 37, moved in for a smooch.

The pair joined Kate Thornton on Yahoo’s White Wine Question Time podcast where talk turned the beginnings of their romance.

And there, Joe admitted that things were not smooth sailing when they first got together.

He said: ‘Stacey was only there (in Australia) for four days. So I was thinking: “I’ve got four days. I’ve only got four days”. And we got to the last day, nothing had given me the scent or anything…

‘I thought: “Right!” It was her last night in the apartment before she went so I thought I’d knock on the door and I thought “I’ve seen it on films before: I’m just going to go in and kiss her”. It weren’t like that, it were nothing like that.’

Stacey then chimed in, saying: ‘It was nothing like in the films Kate. I almost felt like I was being attacked.

‘He said bye, and I said bye, then I shut the door and he knocked again, so I opened the door and he literally went…’ [Mimes sudden head movement forward.]

Former Extra Camp presenter Joe then explained the situation, adding: ‘So basically I was just kissing teeth, as I was doing this I was just thinking, “I’ve really misread this situation”.’

He added: ‘I was expecting a call from my boss saying, “Have you been sexually harassing Stacey Solomon?” And I thought, “Aw, I’ve got a problem here, Joe!”

‘Then she went home and I got a text from her. I can’t remember what the text said, but I think it was like: Sorry I didn’t kiss you back. It was really nice.’

The revelation comes as Stacey revealed marrying long-term partner Joe isn’t at the top of her priorities during a discussion on Loose Women on Wednesday.

The panellist and her fellow unmarried Loose Women co-stars discussed what it would take them to get them down the aisle during a segment about a man who was about to get married for the tenth time.

Although Stacey has previously joked about dropping hints to get married to Joe she admitted it isn’t at the top of her to do list at the moment.

She revealed on the show: ‘I’ve always dreamed of having a wedding but now I’m older and have children and a relationship I absolutely love, I still don’t feel like marriage is at the forefront for us.’

‘I feel like everything else comes first and I’m not ultra religious and it’s not something I feel like we need to have.’

However her co-host Coleen Nolan quickly made light of Stacey’s’ rebuttal and said ‘Oh, but you’d like the [wedding] day wouldn’t you?’ To wish Stacey giggled and said ‘yes’.

Stacey welcomed little Rex in May this year with partner Joe.

The couple started dating in 2016 and Stacey recently said on Loose Women: ‘I was super upfront with Joe from the beginning. I 100% knew from the start I wanted more children.

‘I could see our relationship going somewhere and I didn’t see the point of getting to that stage before having those discussions.

‘[I asked him if he wanted more children] in the first couple of months, maybe earlier.

She added: ‘Actually, it could have been from the offset… “I have two kids, two cats and a dog, I want more children. Hello, do you still want to go out with me”?’

Stacey was already mother to Zachary, 11, and Leighton, seven, when she met Joe – and he also has a son, Harry, 11, from a past relationship.
