Coronavirus fears have caused travel bans being put in place across the world. The FCO has issued an update for anyone who set to travel to Spain in the near future. They also offered advise for Britons already in the country.
However, the warning has now been updated and is set to impact even more people hoping to travel.
The FCO website said: “Due to Spain declaring a State of Emergency on 14 March, which imposes significant restrictions on movement throughout the country in response to the coronavirus outbreak, we are now advising against all but essential travel to Spain.”
The update now advises travellers not to head to any part of the country.

This includes the whole of mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands.
The announcement is sure to impact many holidaymakers who were planning to travel to the country.
Those hoping to visit Spain are being urged to contact their airlines and tour operators, according to FCO.
Britons who are currently in Spain are also advised to contact airlines and operators and to follow the instructions given by local authorities.
More than 300,000 bars and restaurants in Spain have been closed today following the state of emergency.
These closures are thought to last for at least 15 days.
Schools and universities across the country have also been closed.
