Singer Sir Rod Stewart left a touching note and lay flowers at the funeral of Lisbon Lion Bertie Auld today.
Mourners gathered at Celtic Park this morning to honour the life of the 83-year-old, who passed away earlier this month.
Back in the summer it was revealed that Bertie, who won the European Cup in 1967 and 14 other trophies in his two spells with the club, had been diagnosed with dementia.
Celtic fan and rocker Rod had a wreath made up with a hand-written note paying tribute to the club legend.
The note read: “Rest in peace my friend Bertie. Lion of lions. Sir Roderick Stewart CBE.”
Dozens of grieving fans headed to St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Glasgow’s Calton area ahead of the funeral service.
Former Celtic managers David Hay and Neil Lennon, current gaffer Ange Postecoglu, and ex-Chief Executive Peter Lawwell were among those who arrived at the funeral to pay their respects.

Dozens of Auld’s family and loved ones are also in attendance at the service, to say their final farewell to a club legend.
Back when Bertie was first diagnosed, Rod sent his best wishes to his pal by dedicating a video to him.
In the clip, Rod said: “Hi Bertie, it’s Rod here. Just about to watch the Croatia v Scotland game.
“I hear you’re not feeling too good mate, please get well soon.
“I miss you so much. Love you.”
Auld made 279 appearances for Celtic and also played for Dumbarton, Birmingham City and Hibernian before moving into management.
His former team-mate, Lisbon Lions skipper Billy McNeill, died in 2019 after living with dementia since 2010.
