Shane’s marriage troubles with Emily have featured prominently in the show, and news of his bar flop was first reported by All About The Tea.

As news broke, Emily was promoting the reality TV show BravoCon in New York – she is yet to comment.

Shane’s previous failed attempt took place in February, prompting him to retake the exam in July.

The latest results were published on Sunday, and the next time he will be allowed to take the test will be in February 2020.

As a result, Shane’s name is currently not included on the California Bar Organization website, while Emily, who works as an attorney, is listed.

Earlier in the year, Emily, 54, and Shane, 44, had a bust-up after he returned from a week away to take the California Bar Exam.

Emily told her husband: “I have trouble with the way that you talk to me sometimes.

“I don’t like the condescending tone. It’s sarcasm all the time. I get tired of being the butt of all your jokes sometimes.”

Shane asked, “you ready to clean and cook?”

Fans ripped Shane for being condescending and disrespectful to his wife.

Meanwhile, Emily took to social media, writing a cryptic message: “Cheers to all the strong mamas out there busting your butt every day to give your kids the best life ever.”

Previously, Emily has spoken of Shane’s bar exam efforts.

She told Bravo’s Daily Dish: “It was a huge thing in our family that was like everybody sacrificing so Shane could take the bar exam.

“So it’s like, I’m taking care of the kids, his parents are helping, his sister’s helping, it was like the whole Simpson family was all running around doing all these things so he could take the bar exam.

“And then for him not to pass, it was pretty devastating.”

She added: “I mean, it was devastating to not pass. I took the bar exam in 2005, and then I passed the first time, so I don’t even know what that must have felt like for him.”

In that interview, the 54-year-old also acknowledged the pressure her husband must be under, saying, “I give him a lot of credit for doing what he did, and he did it with millions of people watching.”
