It means the lucky seller of this rare coin has made more than 11 times what they originally paid for it and a profit of £566.

Designed by engraver Emma Noble, it features the much-loved Peter Rabbit character in colour and was released to celebrate the 150th birthday of Beatrix Potter.

Due to overwhelming demand, the 50p coin was also restricted to five per household.

It sold on eBay on Friday after six bids were placed in the final minutes.
