Piers Morgan risks more controversy by admitting he puts milk in before teabag

Piers Morgan has had more than his fair share of controversy over the last month, even by his standards, but his tea-making method could cause even more fury.

The former Good Morning Britain presenter has revealed that he puts his milk in first, before the teabag and water, risking the fury of tea-drinkers everywhere.

He was responding to a tweet that his son Spencer posted, with the younger Morgan saying the correct order should be tea bag first, followed by the hot water and then the milk.

And Piers has caused uproar with his chosen tea-making method, with his followers taking to the replies to explain how wrong he is.

Spencer had tweeted: “Tea bag in -> water in -> milk in. This is the way.”

Piers then retweeted the post, adding: “No no no. Always milk first -> bag in -> water in.

“That is the only way to get perfectly stewed tea texture every time.”

And the exchange sparked a fierce debate about the correct way to make the perfect cuppa.

One person tweeted: “I like you Piers but you’re wrong and disgusting and should be ashamed to be British for this behaviour. Milk last!”

“Sorry Piers, I agree with you just about all the time but @spencermorgan93 is right on this one,” another posted.

A third said: “Like starting a book with ‘and they all lived happily ever after…’ Sheer madness.”

“Why does it not surprise me that Piers puts Milk in first?” another asked.

Piers has been causing even more controversy this week after giving an interview in the US about his Meghan Markle row.

He was forced to quit GMB after over 50,000 people complained, including Meghan herself, about his comments on her interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers said he didn’t believe anything she said, including her claim that she had suffered from suicidal thoughts and was refused help from the Royal Family.

In an interview with Extra in America, Piers alleged Meghan and Prince Harry had lied 17 times during the Oprah interview and claimed unnamed Royals had sent him messages of support after the GMB uproar.
