Pal of Harry and William say pair have been 'arguing for 18 months'

Prince Harry and Prince William ‘s relationship has been rocky for the last few years and a friend has said that the pair have been ‘arguing for 18 months’.

ITV reporter Tom Bradby made the claim before denying he negotiated the network’s rights for Harry and Meghan ‘s controversial Oprah Winfrey interview, which aired back in March and had the whole world talking, writes The Mirror.

He went on to say that the sibling ‘s relationship has “slowly descended into something that was difficult” both publicly and behind closed doors for around a year and a half.

Bradby famously interviewed Meghan and Harry for a documentary covering their 2019 tour in Africa.

Harry had hinted then that his relationship was strained with his brother, admitting: “We’re certainly on different paths at the moment.”

Mr Bradby has been close with both princes in the past and even conducted the first interview with William and Kate after the couple announced their engagement and was invited to the royal wedding.

But William reportedly ended their 20-year friendship, feeling “let down” by what has allegedly been perceived to be the journalist taking sides during Megxit.

Speaking to the Times, Mr Bradby said: “Well, it used to be quite a straightforward thing, right, because they weren’t arguing and life was simple.

“And then it just slowly descended into something that was difficult – personally and publicly – really over the past year and a half.”

In January, he told the Alan Titchmarsh show that Harry was “heartbroken” by the strained relations between himself and his family which came as Harry and Meghan stepped away from royal duties in early 2020 and moved to California.

In his Times interview Mr Bradby said he felt “a little bit caught in the middle of them” with his Africa documentary, but didn’t regret the film.

During Harry and Meghan’s tour in 2019, Harry acknowledged the changing relationship with his brother and a tearful Meghan said she was struggling with the media spotlight.

He went on to admit that he sensed Harry and Meghan were not mentally in “great shape” when he interviewed them in Africa and so “altered the way…[he] was planning to do the documentary”.

Asking the Duchess about her wellbeing during the tour, she had said: “Thank you for asking, because not many people have asked if I am OK.”

Harry and William were reunited for the first time in more than a year at their grandfather’s funeral last month.

During ITV’s coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on April 17, the anchor said over footage of William and Harry talking outside St George’s Chapel: “It is often said that funerals are moments of reconciliation and that is a sight…that many people really wanted to see.

“Not least those in the family themselves.”
