A PASSENGER was left disgusted after another traveller put her bare feet on her phone charging cord during a flight.

The Instagram video was captioned: “This was less than 15 minutes into the flight. Now I have to burn the cord to my phone charger.”

The video shows the legs of a woman who has taken her sandals off, leaving her feet exposed.

Jill’s boyfriend was seated next to the traveller and the cord was dangling from the wall across the seats.

The woman started rotating her ankles and stretching her toes out in front of her.

As she stretched them up and down, she hit the phone cord with her bare feet a number of times, before the disgusted passenger moves her phone cord away.

While it is often advised to keep legs moving during a flight to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT), many thought 15 minutes into a flight was a bit premature.

One social media user commented: “Omgggg, NO. No no no no NO. Who does toes stretches on a plane 15 min in anyway?! Burn the cord.”

Another person replied: “I’m nauseous and I’m not even there.”

There were some positive comments: “At least her nails match her dress.”

Cabin crew and frequent travellers alike often advise against walking around a flight barefoot, mainly due to hygiene reasons.

Not only is it disgusting for other passengers to see, but the plane itself is likely to have dirty carpets.

It is also a safety issue. In case of an emergency, shoes need to be worn to avoid injury, especially if there is debris or something dangerous on the floor.

Ex-flight attendant Tony Kuna said travellers who had to take their shoes off should use “the free hotel slippers” as a compromise if they’re walking around the cabin.

Sadly it isn’t the first time a passenger has been shamed online for having bare feet in the cabin, with one woman deciding to pick the dead skin off her feet during a flight.

After picking the skin off, she then dropped the flakes onto the floor, much to the other passenger’s horror.

Another flyer was slammed for putting their bare feet on the seat in front of them while they slept.
