My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding star Paddy Doherty has shared a heartbreaking tribute to twins Billy and Joe Smith after they were found dead in Kent in a suspected joint suicide.
The bodies of the brothers, 32, who both appeared in the show alongside Paddy, were discovered in an isolated country lane in Sevenoaks, Kent yesterday.
In a video shared on his Facebook page, Paddy, 60, described the pair as “angels” and asked fans to pray for their grieving family.
He said: “Two good looking boys, God bless their souls… That’s a terrible, terrible tragedy…
“There’s always worse than yourself… Pray for the boys’ family, the boys’ mother and father, help them be strong and get through this…
“I’m very very sorry for your troubles. Anyone watching this please say a prayer for those left behind…
“May God look after them… They are two angels… They’re in the kingdom of heaven walking on gold.”
The pair featured in the third series of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, which described them as Romani gypsies, when they were 24 and working as gardeners.
An episode followed them during a shift in Kent, at home where they discussed the traveller lifestyle, and during a holiday in Tenerife before getting married and starting families.
The twins’ bodies were found near to a farm on the outskirts of Sevenoaks at about 11.30am on Saturday.
It is said that their family had previously expressed concern for their welfare.
Kent Police said the deaths are not currently being treated as suspicious and a coroner will determine the cause.
Post-mortems are due to take place and an inquest is likely to be held in the new year.
