‘I stacked on the weight honestly,’ Matt told Daily Mail on Monday.

‘It wasn’t about pigging out, it was more about being on set for a long time, eating three-course meals.’

Matt said he put on weight as he wasn’t in the ‘same routine of eating well and going to the gym regularly’.

The New South Wales-based pals noticed their weight gain ‘towards the end’ of the show.

‘Some of those low camera angles were not kind,’ Matt said with a laugh. ‘But it’s just part of the process [of being on the show].’

Matt revealed he lost the extra weight just by ‘living normally’.

‘I’ve worked that weight off now,’ he explained. ‘I’m sort of back to my normal weight.’

Matt and Luke confided in judge and host Manu Feildel about their weight gain, with the French chef having recently dropped an incredible 10 kilograms.

Manu, 45, revealed earlier this month that he slimmed down with ‘three months of dedication, no booze, no carbs, no sugar, [and] training 5 days a week’.

‘We were talking to him about it and he said it happens to him every year,’ the boys said.

‘It’s just the demand of that style of TV, you just lose all routine,’ they added. ‘He [Manu] looks in great shape at the moment. He looks a million dollars.’

Underdogs Matt and Luke were crowned the winners of MKR on Sunday night, taking home the $250,000 prize money.

They beat frontrunners Ibby Moubadder and Romel Kouyan by just four points.
