Lost star Evangeline Lilly stuns fans as she shaves her head in Instagram video


LOST star Evangeline Lilly stunned her Instagram fans by shaving her head.

The actress, 40, uploaded a video of her cutting her long brown hair with scissors before taking clippers to it.

She showed off the finished product in a smiley pic she captioned: “Hello ?. It’s a BEAUTIFUL day.”

In her previous post, a collection of videos, Evangeline teased her followers as to whether or not she should continue with her transformation.

She said: “#homecut (swipe) Stop or keep going?? (For those of you that follow me on @thesquickerwonkers…you already know. ???)”

When a fan asked if it was “for a role or just for fun”, she replied: “Always fun.”

Evangeline got plenty of support from her followers, while others were shocked that she’d done it.

One asked: “did you really cut your own hair? For real?”

Another exclaimed: “SHE SHAVED IT!!!”

Evangeline’s break-out role came in 2004 when she landed the lead role of Kate Austen in Lost. She was nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.

She appeared as Connie James in 2008’s Academy-Award winning film The Hurt Locker and followed this up with a lead role in Real Steel with Hugh Jackman.

In 2012, Evangeline was cast as the original character, Mirkwood elf Tauriel, in Peter Jackson’s three-part adaption of The Hobbit.

She joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the Wasp in 2015’s Ant-Man, a role in which she’s reprised for the sequel that became Marvel’s first movie to feature a female hero in the title.
