Lindsay Lohan may have shocked dog owners everywhere with the news that her former dog Gucci lived to see 27-years of doggy life.

The Freaky Friday actress revealed the unusual news on her Instagram live, claiming that the mini Maltese lived to be over twice the average age for normal dogs.

According to dog food brand Pedigree, Maltese dogs have an average lifespan of 12 to 16 years of age.

Responding to a fan’s question about the star’s history with pets, Lindsay answered: ‘I do not have a dog. My dog actually passed away a few months ago. She was my baby. I had two. I had Chloe and Gucci.

‘I named my dogs after… I had my first dog when I got my first pair of Gucci boots and she ate them and I named her Gucci. And she lived until 27 years old.

‘She was a strong, little, mini Maltese and yeah, that happened. God bless her. God rest her soul. She’s watching me, my puppy angel’.

While 27-years-old for any dog would be an incredible feat, one person who openly disagrees with Gucci’s miraculous age is Lindsay’s mum, Dina.

Back in 2013, closer to when Gucci died, Dina tweeted that the pup was actually 15 years old when it passed away.

In the tweet she wrote: ‘Sad Day Gucci our family Dog passed away ! She was 15 and brought so much love to us ……she will forever be missed xo’.

To add even more confusion into the mix, a source told E! News closer to the time that the family pup lived to see 19-years-of-age and died just before Lindsay’s 27th birthday.

No wonder Lindsay is confused, so are we.

While it’s not everyday that one comes across a 27-year-old dog, its actually not completely impossible for pooch to see such a ripe age.

According to the Guinness World Records, only 7 dogs have lived up until the age of 27.
