Lewis Capaldi wants Paolo Nutini duet and says Boris Johnson jibes 'not nice'

Lewis Capaldi wants to duet with fellow Scots singer Paolo Nutini.

The Someone You Loved star said a joint venture with the 33-year-old would be a “career goal”.

Lewis was speaking in a live Facebook Q&A from his mum and dad’s Bathgate home, where the 23-year-old is on lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The musician also let slip he was growing tired of trolls joking that he looks a bit like UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson,  saying “not very nice”.

When asked if he’d ever be interested in teaming up with Paisley crooner Paolo, Lewis said: “Paolo? I’d love to bring a song out with Paolo.

“I always love it when people tweet something about how they like me, then someone will go ‘but he’s no as good as Paolo’, I’m like ‘I know that’, I’d love to do a song with him, that’s probably a career goal.”

Lewis’ comments come after a hilarious Twitter campaign was started in February on the back of him asking his 1.1m followers: “Right enough’s enough – where the f**k is paolo nutini?”

His tongue-in-cheek search for the Iron Sky singer was soon trending, with fans desperately trying to track him down.

After footage was unearthed of Paolo sending luck to Paisley dance school Dancepoint ahead of their appearance on The Greatest Dancer, the mystery was solved.

But many social media users were left wondering if a duet between the Scots superstars could be on the cards one day.

During Lewis’ Facebook live in lockdown, he also let slip he’s sick and tired of comparisons between him and another famous face, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

He added: “People say I look like Boris Johnson which is not a very nice thing to see about yourself, it makes me feel bad.”

But he went on: “He’s not an ugly chap, it’s just he’s in his 50s and I’m 23.”

But Lewis was still on top form as he shared a bit of his free time with fans, though he was quick to reign them in when many got a bit excited at points, referencing Scots DJ George Bowie ‘s weekend Clyde 1 GBX Dance Anthems request show.

He joked: “Okay enough with the shout-out requests, this isn’t GBX.”

And he gave praise to the nation’s NHS workers for their heroic efforts battling the health crisis starting with some for nurse mum, Carole.

After one fan asked for the star to send a message to his NHS nurse Suzie, Lewis duly responded by adding: “Hello, hello Suzie. My mum is an NHS nurse as well so thanks for everything you’re doing at moment.

And to another NHS worker, he said: “Hello Vicky, hope you’re doing well, thank you so much for everything you’re doing, stay safe as best you can, hopefully this will be over soon.”
