Jacqueline Jossa hints at EastEnders comeback as star says we may ‘see Lauren Branning again’


JACQUELINE Jossa has today sent her fans wild after hinting at an EastEnders comeback.

The actress, 27, – who left the soap in 2018 – teased her Instagram followers with a cryptic “maybe see Lauren Branning again soon” post.

Sharing a pic of herself in character as Lauren, she wrote: “I had such an amazing time and LOVED Lauren Branning with ALL of my heart! I miss you lozza, maybe see you again one day!

“Amazing week of eps congrats everyone involved!

“Some pics of my time on the show! Wow. Memories.”

Her fans loved the thought of her returning to Albert Square, with one saying: “U hve to come back especially now peter is too! [sic]”

While this one commented: “Everything you said and did was done in a way that made Lauren so believable. You absolutely owned that character”

While actress Louisa Lytton who plays Ruby on the soap added: “Come back we can be friends Ruby hasn’t got any.”

Jacqueline joined the long-running BBC soap in September 2010 and was the second actress to play Lauren Branning.

She replaced Madeline Duggan who originally portrayed the character from 2006 to 2010.

When Jacqueline fell pregnant, Lauren disappeared from screens in February 2015, and returned permanently in May 2016.

Jacqueline left the soap in February 2018, although the character’s abrupt departure left fans confused.

She disappeared following her sister Abi’s funeral, who fell from a roof with Lauren – but it wasn’t clear where she went or who with.

During her time on the show she was involved in several major plot lines, including a twisted love triangle with brothers Peter and Steven Beale, falling in love with her cousin and becoming an alcoholic as she turned to the bottle to cope with her mum’s cancer diagnosis.

She won four awards for her portrayal of the character, including Sexiest Female twice at the Inside Soap Awards.

In December 2019 the actress won I’m A Celebrity – and was crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Since then her life has been on the up which includes landing her own clothing range for In The Style.

Jac has also been keen to get her marriage to Dan Osborne back on track after it was blighted by reports of cheating while in the jungle.
