I’m A Celeb's John Barrowman reveals best experience on ‘priceless’ holiday – what is it?

I’m A Celeb star and showbiz royalty, John Barrowman, hopes to add an extra splash of holiday sparkle to Britons planning vacations in 2019, as he shares his priceless holiday tips. The Glasgow-born actor, who is loved by telly and musical theatre fans alike, is unquestionably fabulous – co-incidentally the name of his 2019 tour – and has homes across the globe so every trip away feels like a holiday. Sitting looking out at the palm trees from the kitchen window of his California home, he admitted he was already feeling vacation vibes. In a first for John, and husband Scott, they headed on a “priceless” type of holiday you perhaps wouldn’t expect from a celeb – a package break to the Dominican Republic.

Talking of the sun-soaked trip, John gushed: “For me it’s when I leave the house to go to the airport, that’s when it starts.

“It was the first time I did an all inclusive thing with my husband Scott, and it probably was the best experience we ever had.

“We never had to worry about anything from the moment the tickets were booked and the resort were booked we literally headed for the airport, had a cocktail when we got there, got on the plane, had a fabulous time when we arrived.

“We got in the shuttle to go to the resort, and had a fantastic time chit chatting with the driver.

“When we got to the resort we were met with a tray of drinks – so literally from the moment we stepped out of the house it was the holiday feeling.

“It is priceless when you’re able to do that and I would highly recommend a fully inclusive trip. It was just incredible.”

Meanwhile, John has jumped straight on TUI’s Holiday Feeling campaign following research which showed 23 per cent of Britons believe holiday feeling hits before we step on a plane.

The research also showed UK travellers hit peak holiday feeling at hour 43, but lose it less than four days after unpacking their suitcases back at home.

John buzzed how he was full of vacation vibes immediately, yet these rocketed when he stepped into his room with a view overlooking the beach.

Speaking of his holiday attitude he added: “Anything that I do or how I approach it for me, in my life, is a holiday itself.

“I am living my dream and having fun doing it – that’s what a holiday is.

“It’s your dream fantasy coming true and having fun while you are doing it.”

He added: “I think my joie de vivre of everything and the way I approach that fits perfectly with TUI UK.”

TUI enlisted John Barrowman to bring the ‘Holiday Feeling’ to life, showing holidaymakers exactly what the holiday feeling is during a stay at the TUI SENSATORI Resort Punta Cana.

Katie McAlister, Chief Marketing Officer for TUI UK & Ireland said: “When our guests book a holiday with us we want to make the whole experience as enjoyable and stress-free as possible, from the moment they book, to the moment they see the beach.

“We all know, and have felt, the holiday feeling – that feeling of utter joy, excitement, anticipation and relaxation – and this research provides fascinating insights that will help us ensure that our guests enjoy their holiday feeling to the max.

“For example, understanding its life cycle will inform our pre and after travel communications and we will be creating something new soon that will quite literally ‘bottle the holiday feeling’ in a bid to make it last even longer.”
