She revealed the list of shortcuts she takes with her daughter, Nova, to get ready in the mornings while she works long hours as a single mum.

Maisie added that many people have said they don’t agree with her methods.

For starters, Maisie often lets three-year-old Nova eat breakfast in the car.

She revealed on social media this usually happens on days the mum is working and her daughter loves it as she gets to have a lie in.

The mum also said she wakes her daughter up at 5:45am most days for nursery by turning her bedroom light on and leaving her to it.

While Maisie gets ready, her daughter can slowly wake up and come into her mum’s room when she’s awake.

“When we set off home late, I’ll change her into tomorrow’s clean clothes and let her fall asleep in the car then transfer her to bed,” she added.

Maisie noted that Nova wasn’t a morning person, so getting her ready the night before stopped lots of tears in the morning.

“She isn’t a morning person and if l dress her in the morning it causes lots of upset and tantrums,” she added.

The mum also admits to sendingNova to nursery even if she has a belly ache, snotty nose or slight cough.

“I have bills to pay and we’re in a cost of living crisis,” she explained as she added that there was no reason for her to skip nursery unless it was an emergency or bad illness.

Last but not least, Maisie saved herself time in the mornings by choosing hairstyles that last a few days such as french plaits or bubble braids which she just has to neaten up in the morning.

The clip posted to her TikTok account @maisieandnova soon went viral with over 860k views and 25k likes.

Despite expecting people to disagree with her shortcut, many parents said they were smart and praised Maisie for being a great mum.

One person wrote: “I used to change into my uniform before bed when I was in primary school, I thought I was so smart, was gutted when I moved to high school & had to wear shirt & skirts.”

Another commented: “You’re doing a wonderful job. It’s a shame we live in a society where the hours have to be so long to get by, that’s not your fault.”

“Putting her in clothes the night before is so smart, I’ve had to pick my fights a few mornings and send my daughter in pjs,” penned a third.

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Oh my god I’m glad I’m not the only one who dresses them before bed if we have to leave the house early.”

“You know that a lot of people will moan about this, but it works for you!! And you are doing your best,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “SAY IT LOUDERRRRRR, I’m a single working mum doing 40 hours full time a week. it’s hard but so worth it.”
