James feels guilty as Jesse knew about his and Grace’s dark secret: that they shot Mercedes McQueen.

In a tense conversation, the struggling club owner told Grace: “Living with a death on your conscience might be easy for you, but it’s not for me.”

Unmoved, she warned: “You need to make it easy for you, otherwise you’re going to end up in jail and Romeo and Juliet are going to end up with their junkie mum.

“That’s if I don’t get to you first… You need to go be with your family. Do something nice for them, and never, ever speak about Jesse again.

“He’s dead — and if you’re not careful, you’re going to join him.”

Grace’s threat had the intended effect because James tore up his confession letter soon after.

Meanwhile, Maxine Minniver could be in danger too as Jesse’s brother Liam blames her for his death.

And the pressure is coming from all sides as the bar woman is terrified the police will pay her a visit after she over-served the groom.

Liam fumed: “This family suffers loss after loss, but no more. Maxine is going to pay.”

He then ominously added a photo of Maxine onto his dartboard.
