Greatest Dancer’s Cheryl admits she feels ‘nostalgic’ as she shared sweet throwback snap ahead of semi-finals


THE Greatest Dancer’s Cheryl Tweedy admitted she felt “nostalgic” as she shared a childhood throwback snap ahead of the semi-finals.

The BBC talent show continues tonight, and the singer took to Instagram to post a memory from her own days as a ballet dancer.

The photo revealed the Girls Aloud star striking the perfect ballerina pose, leaping into the air for a ballon jump.

She captioned her photo: “@greatestdancer tonight at 6:30pm✨ feeling nostalgic. Join us for the semi finals to see who will make it through.”

Dance Captain Cheryl, 36, has two acts left in talent competition, Lily and Joseph and Brothers of Dance.

Lily, age 11 and Joseph, age nine have been dancing contemporary together for just over a year after meeting at dance school.

The 36-year-old broke down in tears after telling nine-year-old Joseph to “work on his emotions” on The Greatest Dancer.

Cheryl encouraged Joseph not to cry when he got choked up on stage.

The child dancer said to Cheryl: “Thank you so much this has been the best experience ever…”

The dance captain replied: “We’re not going to cry this week because we’re going to work on those emotions… I love you so much!”

Cheryl and Joseph have broken down in tears on live TV before together.

“I really felt it and I really loved it.”

Pointing out what Cheryl had done, one viewer said: “Cheryl telling a child to work on their emotions and then crying herself #thegreatestdancer.”

Another added: “Noooo! @CherylOfficial don’t tell Joseph not to cry! We teach our kids to suppress their emotions–especially boys @BBCOne #TheGreatestDancer let it out people.”
