Gigi Hadid has broken her silence to confirm reports she is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Zayn Malik.
The model, 25, spoke about the news during a video chat with US talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
Wasting no time, Jimmy said to the the mum-to-be: “I’ve got to say… congratulations on expecting a baby!”
Thanking the presenter, Gigi couldn’t hide her delight as she clasped her hands in front of her stomach.
“We’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support,” she gushed.
“It was the ray of sunshine that we all need,” said Jimmy.
Gigi, who is currently on lockdown at her family’s farm in Pennsylvania with Zayn, kept her blossoming bump hidden from view in an oversized tartan coat.
She told Jimmy she felt lucky to be pregnant at this time as she was able to spend so much quality time with her pop star beau.
“It’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.”
Gigi then talked the host through her 25th birthday party at the weekend where she initially puzzled fans by breaking down in tears at the food her family provided for her.
Explaining why she got so emotional, Gigi said her pregnancy craving was bagels and so her family members had managed to track down some treats from her favourite bakery in the lockdown.
“I was so excited that everything was bagel. Then I found out that Buddy the Cake Boss made my cake,” she gushed.
“I don’t know if it’s my hormones right now or quarantine emotions but I cried every five minutes for like an hour.
“Every time I thought that Buddy made my cake. I couldn’t stop crying.”
