Flights can be pretty tedious when plane passengers are forced to spend a lot of time at the airport. Fliers have all sorts of ways to keep themselves occupied during this time, from reading and shopping to chatting to friends. Some passengers also try to give sleep a go – not always an easy feat at an airport. One man has shocked with what he was seen doing an airport in a potential bid to kip – and a photo of his actions has gone viral on Instagram.
The image was shared by Instagram account passengershaming and depicts a very bizarre scene indeed.
The photo shows a plane passenger waiting at the airport – but there’s something highly unusual about his actions.
For starters, the traveller is lying on the floor next to a column and another passenger sitting in a chair. It’s unclear how old the passenger could be.
He is not lying against a wall but seemingly in the middle of the room, meaning he could well be in the way of others.
But the odd nature of the shot does not stop there. The flier has decided to cover themselves with what seems to be a sheet.
The large piece of material covers their entire body bar one foot and ankle which pokes out.
It’s pulled up over the traveller’s head – which appears to be raised up slightly from the floor.
What the person is really up to begs many questions. The move could arguably have been made in an attempt to sleep – although the lifted head suggests he is awake.
Viewers are simply left scratching their heads as to the man’s bizarre decision to lie in such a way.
Instagram account passengershaming inserted a tongue-in-cheek crime scene tape into the photo, jokingly suggesting the covered passenger resembled a dead body.
Some viewers were alarmed at the person’s decision. “Definitely not going to catch me lying on that nasty carpet unless I’ve actually died,” one wrote.
However, other’s felt they could relate to the flier. “Gotta admit, I wish I could lie down and hide under a cover at most airports too. I’m right there with him,” one Instagram user commented.
Another added: “Hey after a long haul flight I wouldn’t blame someone for this!”
The man is not the only one making strange moves on his journey. Another passenger was spotted doing something rather disgusting with an airline blanket on a Qatar Airways flight.
A vile video shared on Twitter shows him gathering up the blanket and sneezing directly into it.
The passenger goes on to firmly wipe his nose on the material before putting it back on his lap.
