Flights: New Turkish route boosts budget-savvy options for British holidaymakers

Holidaymakers looking for a vacation that promises sandy beaches and year-round sun, but without a long-haul journey, may well opt to spend their break in Turkey. Fans of the transcontinental country are in luck thanks to a new direct route launching in time for spring 2020.

Nick Sime, Head of Aviation Account Management at Stansted Airport Authority said: “We are delighted that AnadoluJet is launching flights to Istanbul from London Stansted Airport this spring.

“Flights between London Stansted and Turkey have always been extremely popular and this will provide our passengers with even more choice.

“ I have no doubt that this new link will be an attractive option for both business and leisure passengers. We look forward to working with them and wish AnadoluJet every success with this new link from Stansted.”

No one resort stood out as a clear winner, which means holidaymakers have plenty of options to chose from.

It’s good news for the nation, which was in a state of panic following the collapse of Thomas Cook which flew droves of Britons to the holiday hotspot each year.

The country feared it would lose between 600,000 and 700,000 tourists annually.

Luckily, holiday competitor TUI took on 30 of Thomas Cook’s Turkish resorts following the company’s collapse.

Meanwhile, an increased schedule from airlines means more options for travellers to reach the destination.
