Flight attendant reveals ‘random’ item she always packs in her hand luggage

Flight attendants know a thing or two about boosting the inflight experience with so many air miles under their belts. So much travel can be hard on the health, particularly when it comes to skin, which is why one flight attendant has revealed a “random” items she never travels without.

The cabin crew member explained that her skin often suffers as a result of all of the flights she takes, both for her work as a long-haul flight attendant and during her commute.

Luckily, she has some handy tips and tricks to keep skin soft and supple, including one item she always ensures is tucked safely in her hand luggage.

“I can’t check a suitcase in on domestic or short-haul flights, so I’m restricted to the liquid restrictions,” she explained.

“I pretty much always have a random sheet mask in my bag, I like to pop one on after a bath.”

It is thought this maximises the treatment and allows more nutrients to soak in.

The cabin crew member went on to explain this isn’t the only trick she has up her sleeve when it comes to travel wellness.

“For me, my main concern is keeping my hydration levels topped up, I find that this is where AB really comes into its own for me,” she continues.

“I already had an AB routine before I started flying, so I think layering, in particular, has been very beneficial to me.”

The flight attendant said she avoids a complicated routine.

“Sometimes I’m so exhausted that I just want to do the quickest possible routine before collapsing into bed,” she explains.

She added: “If I’m on a long haul flight I will get a break, now I value my sleep too much so I don’t bother to remove my makeup before I go to the bunks and as I don’t wear foundation I don’t feel as bad.

“Lots of the girls do remove their makeup with a wipe and pop some cream on.”

She also avoids wearing too much make-up in order to fully benefit her skin.

However, it isn’t just the stuff she puts on her skin that is beneficial.

“I try to drink a minimum of 2 500ml bottles of water, if I’m working in business class I will have a few cups of peppermint tea,” she said.

“It can be hard at times to drink enough, I’ve had plenty of flights where we have been so busy we barely have time to breathe let alone drink.”
