Dramatic video shows pitch invader taking out Liverpool ace Adrian after Super Cup heroics

Adrian, who was playing due to an injury to regular No 1 Alisson, was Liverpool’s hero in Istanbul.

He saved Tammy Abraham’s penalty in a shootout after a 2-2 draw to hand Liverpool their first trophy of the season.

And as Adrian was mobbed by his team-mates, video footage from a fan shows a pitch invader sprinting towards the group.

The man appears to slip, clattering into Adrian, with Klopp confirming the goalkeeper has injured his ankle.

Adrian wasn’t the only Liverpool player felled with a number of other stars falling to the ground.

The pitch invader was swiftly pulled away by stewards with Liverpool players keen to get away.

And now Adrian may be forced to miss Liverpool’s trip to Southampton on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp said: ”A supporter jumped over something, slipped and kicked his ankle.

“It is swollen but we have to see.”

Adrian joined Liverpool in the final days of the transfer window as cover to Alisson.

And boss Klopp was quick to credit his new signing.

“What a story, ADRIAN! Like Rocky after he lost against Apollo Creed I think,” Klopp said.

“He kept his nerves. He is really loud in the dressing room already.

“It’s so good for him. I don’t think he’s won a lot in his life, so I’m really happy for him.

“It’s an amazing story – I don’t know where Adrian was two weeks ago when we played Man City (and had a penalty shoot out)!

“He is a great character, not just on the pitch, but off it.

“He was maybe louder than I was at half time. He is obviously quick in mind and helped us a lot and can be really proud

“When he came it was clear he needed time to get fit, I don’t know when he played his last game, but he was ready, and it is remarkable he was ready like that.”
