CORONATION Street star Beverley Callard has been left heartbroken at the death of her beloved pet dog.
The actress – who plays Liz McDonald in the ITV soap – lost her dog Teddy at just three years old to cancer.

Posting the upsetting news on Twitter, Beverley said: “On Friday we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Jeffrey only 3 years old, but he had terminal cancer!
“We are broken hearted! I know my Twitter friends loved him too. God bless x”
Beverley’s on-screen son Simon Gregson paid tribute to the pup, tweeting: “So sorry Bev night god bless Jeffery I loved you very much xx”
Her co-star Kym Marsh added: “Oh no I’m so sorry Beverley. My David loves him! He sends his love. Sleep tight gorgeous boy! X”

The actress was overwhelmed with fan messages paying their respects to the puppy and sending their well wishes to her.
One wrote: “Oh Beverley, I am so very sorry for your loss, he was a most beautiful boy, he was very much loved and will be very much missed, I will miss his updates on here. R.I.P Darling Jeffrey x”
A second said: “Ever so sorry to hear this, breaks my heart!
“I am sure its not really goodbye! I am sure he is with you. You may see hear feel and talk to.
“He will be ever so proud of you too. You are much loved cared about valued appreciated respected a role model inspirational…
“And I am sure he knows you all feel the same about him too! I will be here if ever need to talk.
“Thinking of you. In my thoughts and prayers. Sending love and best wishes xx”
Another added: “So sorry to hear that Beverly, my sincerest sympathy to you, all of you, at this sad time.”
