An iconic bikini worn by a Bond girl in the first 007 film is set to fetch up to £390,000 at auction.
The white two-piece was worn by actress Ursula Andress in an iconic scene in Dr No alongside Scottish star Sean Connery.
The Hollywood actress, now 84, became an instant pin-up from the moment her character, beachcomber Honey Ryder, was pictured emerging dripping from the ocean in the skimpy swimsuit.
Now the legendary bikini, which features a belt, is set to go under the hammer in Los Angeles.
The beach scene, where Connery watches from the trees in awe as the Bond girl saunters up the sand, is cited as one of the most ‘memorable’ in history.
Brian Chanes, of Hollywood auctioneers Profiles in History, said: “It’s one of the most memorable scenes in the entire James Bond franchise.
“It helped bikinis become more mainstream and it started the whole Bond girl phenomenon.”
Andress has even previously credited the bikini with “making her a success” in Hollywood.
The beach scene has been copied countless times since the film’s release in 1962.
It was more recently recreated by actress Halle Berry in Die Another Day as Pierce Brosnan watches her through binoculars.
Sadly 007 fans will have to wait a little longer to see if there is another iconic bikini shot in the delayed release of No Time To Die.
The auction of Bond collectibles will take place online and in Los Angeles on November 12 and 13.
