Best UK theme park deals for half term as Drayton Manor halves ticket prices and kids go free at Alton Towers


FAMILIES can grab a great deal this half-term thanks to a number of offers from some of the UK’s most popular theme parks.

From half price tickets to free child entry, a day out doesn’t have to break the bank.

But if you’re planning to head to one of the theme parks, make sure you book ahead – many will have ticket offers that are available online only.

Here are some of the best deals you can book now:

Drayton Manor – half price tickets

The Staffordshire theme park has cut all ticket prices by 50 per cent this weekend.

From May 31 to June 2, adults can enter the park for £19.50 per person, down from £39.

Children’s tickets have been reduced from £29 to £14.50, while visitors over 60 can enter for £15, instead of £30.

To take advantage of the deal, the tickets need to be bought in advance online.

Alton Towers – kids go free

The theme park has a Kids Play Free deal that gives free entry for children from now until June 2.

The offer is only for kids who are 11 or under, and they must be accompanied by an adult, who will have to pay full ticket prices.

As children’s tickets normally cost £14, it can mean a big saving for families.

The deal is part of the Alton Towers package, which starts from £55 per person.

You get one night’s stay in one of the new Stargazing Pods and two days entry to the theme park.

Legoland – 38 per cent off tickets

Families heading to Legoland Windsor can save up to 38 per cent on tickets this week if you buy them online.

From now until June 2, tickets cost just £39 instead of £60 when you book online the day before you go.

This falls to £29 if you go on quieter days next week.

Guests can also get a free two-day Digi-pass included in their package if they stay at one of the resort hotels this weekend.

It allows unlimited digital photo downloads for free.

Chessington World of Adventures – up to £21 off

To get the best ticket prices at Chessington World of Adventures, you should book at least five days ahead.

But even if you’ve left it to the last minute, they still have tickets for this week from £34.50 per person.

If you live nearby, it might be worth waiting until 3pm when you can get late entry tickets for just £20.50.

It’s a big saving compared to the £50.50 that you’d have to pay on the door.

Summer of Fun at the Legoland Windsor Resort

Thorpe Park – 40 per cent off tickets

Guests booking in advance online can save up to 40 per cent on their Thorpe Park tickets.

Adults can save over £20, with day passes costing £33 instead of £55.

But if you plan to go more than twice this year, it might be cheaper to get an annual pass.

Gulliver’s World – free kids tickets

Families already heading to Gulliver’s World this week can get free tickets for their kids for another day.

Kids just need wear a sock puppet to the Tabbalabba celebration within the park to be able to come back for free.

Other great theme parks to visit this half term include Peppa Pig World and Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Make sure you check before you travel though as the theme parks do get full.

Many theme parks in the UK have a rainy day policy, which gives you free tickets to come back if it rains continuously during the day.
