YouTuber Niki Albon comes out as gay: ‘I am so overwhelmed by the love being sent my way’

YouTuber Niki Albon has come out as gay, and thanked fans for their support following his announcement.

The content creator, who is one half of Niki and Sammy on YouTube alongside his twin, spoke out for the first time about his sexuality in his latest video.

Niki told his fans: ‘I’m gay & this video has been 27 years in the making’ as he shared the video.

He revealed: ‘I feel like I haven’t been honest and truthful the entire time with myself, let alone with anyone else.

‘I feel like I was just being deceptive, and saying that now it’s just so stupid, but it got me down. For the last four years I feel like I wasn’t being my honest self, which is annoying in so many ways.’

Niki admitted he always tried to be as real as possible with his followers as well as making content to make them happy, so it was important to be honest with them about this part of his life, too.

He explained that the first time he admitted he was gay was to his therapist at the age of 27, which helped him build up the confidence to speak about it publicly.

As well as his video, Niki shared a portrait of himself in a black jumper with a rainbow stripe, as well as one with his family, as he admitted he was worried about how his family would react.

He wrote: ‘I am so overwhelmed by the love being sent my way right now. Thank you so much!

In his video, Niki also admitted he was scared to come out to his family, explaining: ‘The only reason I hadn’t come out sooner is because of fear.’

He added: ‘I’ve come out to my entire family now, I came out to my dad’s side of the family two days ago and it was exactly how I knew it would be, but you just don’t know [until you do it].’
