Before You descends into its signature strain of stalking mayhem, fans have been speculating that a new baby could cause drama for the Netflix season. There could also be an opportunity for a fan favourite character to inadvertently return.
After the crazy events of the season two finale, Joe (played by Penn Badgley) and Love (Victoria Pedretti) fled from the scene of their numerous crimes.
They decide to start their life over in the Los Angeles suburbs, but fans aren’t expecting their idyllic new household to last for long.
As the season wraps up, Joe spies their pretty next door neighbour and begins to sow the seeds for his new obsession.
The dysfunctional couple escaped to the suburbs after revealing their violent pasts and blaming Love’s dead twin brother Forty (James Scully) for the deaths of Henderson (Chris D’Elia) and Candace (Ambyr Childers).

Love also revealed to Joe that she was pregnant with his baby, setting up a stifling family dynamic between two obsessive killers for the third season.
One fan of the show took to Reddit claiming they had insider knowledge regarding the third season.
This speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt, but the Redditor claims to have been told about a major twist involving Joe and Love’s baby.
Redditor berny666lol69 said: “The season starts off with Joe stalking the neighbour, and begins a secret relationship with her.”
Given Joe’s tendencies towards projection and sociopathic behaviour, it’s very possible that Joe will start to see character traits of the original Forty manifest in his son.
Forty was infamous in LA for being a jumped up and entitled wannabe filmmaker, with tendencies towards drug abuse and manipulating those around him.
Depending on how long You continues to be successful for Netflix, viewers could see Joe’s baby grow up to become a Forty 2.0 of sorts.
The Redditor finally added: “The final scene is apparently Joe finding Love and them getting into a big physical fight, then they start arguing as they’re both pretty injured.
“As this is happening Forty (their baby) picks up a gun and straight up shoots Love.”
Unless Joe and Love’s baby becomes the smartest six month old in the world, this leaked twist could confirm that the new season will trace a much longer timeframe than previous instalments.
That said, the South American kidnapping plot sounds a little far-fetched even for the chaotic stalker series, so fans aren’t entirely convinced yet.
