Yakuza 6 actor accused of alleged links to organized crime – googame.net

It seems that the word scandal is common now for the Yakuza universe. Actor and comedian Hiroyuki Miyasako, who plays as Tsuyoshi Nagumo in Yakuza 6: The Song of life, has been suspended by his agency after his alleged link to organized crime was revealed.

As reported by the Japan Time Miyazako along with another eleven comedians attended a party hosted by an organized crime group 5 years ago. According to the comedians, they were unaware of the fact that the group who hired them was involved in a money transfer fraud. Despite this, all of the 11 comedians were dropped by their agency Yoshimoto Kogyo Co. In his public apology, Miyasako said:

“I deeply regret accepting the money, even if it was indirectly.”

A common move in Japan is to cut connections with any celebrity that has any type of link to illegal activities. Most of the media featuring Miyasako have decided to suspend the shows or cut the scenes where he appears. Yakuza has been in the market for quite some time already. So there is no confirmation if Mayasako will also be removed from it, or Yakuza 6 sales will stop.

This might sound a little bit familiar. That’s because a similar case happened not long ago with Pierre Taki, an actor from Judgment. Taki was arrested for drug-related charges. Sega had to postpone Judgement sales while they find a replacement actor for the character.

However, after the whole scandal Judgement is doing pretty great among critics and fans.
