Deepika Padukone is loved by fans all over the world – especially in her native India. She has risen to fame from TV commercials to major global movies. But what can fans expect to see from Deepika Padukone in 2020, and what movies does she have coming up?

’83

Padukone has most recently been filming new movie ’83, alongside her husband and frequent collaborator, Ranveer Singh.

The film will also feature Ammy Virk playing Balwinder Singh Sandhu, the former test cricketer, while the movie is directed by Kabir Khan.

The movie, co-produced by Padukone herself, and story narrates Kapi Dev’s (played by Ranveer Singh) journey of life as well as how he became the captain of the India national cricket team and won the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

’83 wrapped filming in Mumbai in October after filming various moments in England throughout the summer, and is expected to be released in India in April.

The Intern

This movie is the remake of Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway’s 2015 comedy film.

The plot follows a widower who becomes a senior intern at an online fashion website, with De Niro playing the intern to Hathaway’s brutal boss.

In the remake, Padukone will play Hathaway’s role, while De Niro’s role is expected to be played by Rishi Kapoor.

The project was announced only at the start of 2020, and is expected to be released in 2021.

Untitled Shakun Batra Film

While little is known about this movie at present, it looks as though Padukone will star alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi in this upcoming movie.

According to the Mumbai Mirror, this movie will be a “contemporary tale” and likely a romantic story, with Padukone and Chaturvedi playing one of two couples at the centre of the drama.

A source told the publication: “Shakun wanted to cast a fresh face alongside Deepika and he felt Siddhant fit the bill.”

More information will likely be revealed, but it has been mooted that the film will go into pre-production from March.

Since then, they have hired a huge number of stars, including Chinese stars Jay Chou, Zoe Zhang and Roy Wang.

Diesel even called on fans to help suggest who may be a good fit for the new movie, however since then his focus has all been on the new Fast and Furious film, Fast and Furious 9.

That movie is expected to be seen for the first time this week, as a short trailer teased the arrival of the full trailer, which is expected to arrive at the Super Bowl.

As for Padukone, she seems to be consistently working so it is likely more movies of hers will start to come through, and her latest film, Chhapaak, was released only a few weeks ago.
