xQc reveals he had to go into therapy to get unbanned on Twitch

Twitch and Kick star xQc said he had to attend a ‘therapeutic session’ to get unbanned, after fan trolled him with explicit gorilla video.

Bans are commonplace on streaming platforms such as Twitch, as the owners have to police content creators who often go to extremes to get fans’ attention, while streamers navigate constantly changing guidelines as a result.

Usually when a streamer gets banned they receive an email stating the fact and how long they’re going to be out in the cold – and that’s usually it, with no actual explanation for why they’ve been banned.

Top Twitch and Kick streamer xQc has now shed light on a more unusual method Twitch used, after he got banned for watching a video a fan had sent him, saying they had him go to a therapy session to get unbanned.

xQc was playing Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 with Adin Ross and Trainwrecks on Kick, when the latter two were discussing how Ross could get unbanned from Twitch (where he was permabanned last year).

Ross joked, asking if he had to go to therapy to get unbanned, to which xQc replied: ‘They [Twitch] actually had me go to therapy once.’

Ross asked if it was to get unbanned, which xQc confirmed, and added:

‘One session with a Twitch employee, like a therapeutic session, touching base with them.’

xQc elaborated saying that ban was because he clicked a link a fan had sent him, that showed a gorilla having sex ‘for half a second’, much to Ross and Trainwrecks’ amusement.

This particular ban was back in 2020 and got xQc banned for 24 hours, which is normal for an offence like that.

The ban from 2020 is also a good example of how quickly streamers can get banned, and how careful they have to be, as even fans will try to get them barred just for a laugh.

xQc recently revealed the most amount of money he earned in one year as a streamer, and it’s safe to say that even he get permabanned one day he’s got millions of reasons to not be too upset about it.
