World-class XI of superstars worth £110m sold by Pep Guardiola including Henry, Ibrahimovic, Kroos and Ronaldinho

PEP GUARDIOLA has taken charge of some of the biggest clubs in world football.

His spells at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City have seen him work with galaticos such as Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski and Kevin de Bruyne.

But the Spanish tactician has also seen a fair few names move on during his time in charge at these European giants.

SunSport has put together a stellar starting XI of names sold or let go by Guardiola over the years.

The stunning line-up were flogged for a combined total of almost £110million – and that includes three stars who left on free transfers.

Between the sticks is stopper PEPE RAINE, who left Pep’s Bayern Munich for Napoli back in 2014 having played back-up to Manuel Neur.

Flanking the defence are full-backs MAXWELL – shipped from Barca to Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 – PABLO ZABALETA, moved from City to West Ham to make room for Kyle Walker.

Centre-back RAFAEL MARQUEZ was a titan of the Barca defence under Guardiola – winning four LaLiga titles and the Champions League twice – but was released to New York Red Bulls in 2010.

His partner at the back in the make-believe XI is DANTE, who struggled for games at Bayern before he was sold to Wolfsburg in 2015.

Next comes a midfield three stacked with world-beating talent.

TONI KROOS and BASTIAN SCHWEINSTEIGER were serial winners under Pep at Bayern before leaving for Real Madrid and Manchester United respectively.

YAYA TOURE experienced a rockier relationship with his gaffer.

He was sold to City in 2011 for around £27m before the pair were reunited when Pep took over at the Etihad in 2016 – Yaya left just two years later.

Leading the line in this team of cast offs are three of the most fearsome forwards to have played the game.

The great RONALDINHO failed to impress Pep with love of life off the pitch in Barcelona and was promptly sold to AC Milan in 2008.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC was another who didn’t necessarily see eye-to-eye with the boss – leaving Barca for AC Milan in 2010 after just one season at the Nou Camp.

One striker who did enjoy the good times under Pep at Barca is THIERRY HENRY.

The Arsenal legend left North London for Catalonia in 2007 and won an historic treble with his new employer a year later.

He was released with Marquez to New York Red Bulls in 2010.

Any bench created from Guardiola cast-offs is similarly stuffed with talent.

JOE HART was deemed surplus to requirements at City, LEROY SANE was sent to Bayern, and PEDRO let go at Barca.

SAMUEL ETO’O famously fell out with the manager and preferred life under his great rival Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan.

And MARIO MANDZUKIC was shipped off in 2014 after the arrival of Lewandowski to score Pep’s goals in Bavaria.
