A WOMAN has shared the bizarre set of rules new mums were issued with back in the 60s – and they show how much times have changed.

Micala Gabrielle Henson took to Facebook to share the “routine” that had been given to her own mum back in 1968 featuring some very unusual advice.

The form was issued by Carrabus Memorial Hospital in North Carolina and issues specific instructions as to when new mums can nurse their baby and how often.

Initially they are told to only breastfeed their baby for five minutes at a time, the next day they can up it to 7 minutes and then eventually 15 minutes.

There are also strict rules on what women can’t eat, with nurses advising against chocolate, raw apple, cabbage, nuts strawberries, onions, cherries or green coconut cake.

Captioning her post, Micala wrote: “My mom was going through her things and we saw this, it’s rules in regards to just having a baby. It gave me a chuckle.

“How things have changed! This is from 1968! How cool! Thank goodness things have changed, I can’t imagine! Feel free to share!”

The photo has since gone viral having been shared over 10,000 times and receiving almost 4,0000 likes and thousands of comments from equally amused mums.

“WTH that’s nuts” said one, with another adding “We would’ve been kicked out of the hospital.”

A third added: “Wow…I’m so glad things have changed for the better for the most part.”

In other parenting news, this mum was horrified at her four-year-old’s jam-packed nursery schedule.

And this mum spent nearly £1,000 on a ‘Kidchella’ themed party for her daughter.
