It follows Rosie, as well as her parents Emily and Simon, and her older brother Ben.

The series was written by Shaun Pye from his own experience of having a daughter born with a chromosomal disorder.

David Tennant and Jessica Hynes are once again taking up their roles as parents to a child with severe learning disabilities.

Who’s in the cast of There She Goes?

David Tennant as Simon Yates

David Tennant is a Scottish actor familiar to most TV watchers.

His roles in Dr Who, Broadchurch and Casanova have made him one of the UK’s most well-known actors.

Miley Locke as Rosie Yates

Miley Locke plays Rosie, a nine-year-old with severe learning disabilities.

Locke herself doesn’t have a learning disability in real life, but BBC bosses said they auditioned girls with learning disabilities and consulted with child psychologists, who said the role would be too demanding for a child with a disability.

Miley previously appeared in the TV series The Royals as Sara Alice.

Her co-star, David Tennant has described her as “an incredible find”.

Tennant has said he admires how “painfully honest” the show can be.

He said, ““My experience of reading that first script was just how painfully honest it was, you always felt like you had to look away from the script sometimes.

“I think parenting is often sentimentalised, and sort of cleaned up for consumption, and in my own experience of being a parent, it’s hit and miss, and full of triumphs and disasters.”

Jessica Hynes as Emily Yates

Jessica Hynes has been awarded a Bafta TV Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for her role in the show.

Hynes has had a role in the 2007 Doctor Who, in which she played Joan Redfern.

She is also creator, writer and star of the British sitcom Spaced.

In an interview with the Independent, Hynes said “I feel like I did this show, There She Goes, and I’m really proud of it.

“If I never work again, if it’s the end of comedy on TV as we know it, I will be very proud.”

Other cast members include:

Edan Hayhurst as Ben Yates

Edan Hayhurst plays Ben, Rosie’s older brother.

This is Edan’s first major acting role.

However, the young talent will star as Colin Craven in the upcoming remake of The Secret Garden, which also stars Colin Firth and Julie Walters.

Yasmine Akram as Helen

Yasmine Akram plays Helen, Simon’s friend who he regularly confides in during the series.

Yasmine may be recognisable for her role in Sherlock as Janine.

She has also starred as Eimear Day in Gold Digger and as Nigella Lawson in Murder in Successville.
