Indie kids, get ready to feel utterly ancient.

White Lies released their debut album To Lose My Life… ten years ago, spawning the hits To Lose My Life, Death and Farewell To The Fairground.

And a whole decade after the band reached number one on the UK album charts, they are preparing to play it in its entirety.

On 6 December, White Lies will be playing To Lose My Life… in its entirety, as well as other hits and ‘rarities’, at the O2 Academy Brixton.

Lead singer Harry McVeigh said: ‘Over the past 10 years, no matter where we go in the world, we still find White Lies fans who have had an important part of their lives soundtracked by that record, each with their own unique story.

‘And so, it feels like a perfect opportunity to revisit To Lose My Life… and play it in full from start to finish for the first time in the venue in which we closed the initial To Lose My Life tour – one of our favourite venues in the world – and make some new memories for the next 10 years.’

Drummer Jack Lawrence-Brown added: ‘When we released and initially toured To Lose My Life a decade ago, it was THE formative experience of our lives as musicians, and it was a total whirlwind. I only vividly remember bits and pieces of that time in our lives – almost everything we did was a new experience for us – but one thing that was very clear was that we had made a record that a lot of people really connected with. In recent times that has really hit home.’

The group, also consisting of bassist Charles Cave, have released four albums since then – 2011’s Ritual, which included the hit song Bigger Than Us, 2013’s Big TV, Friends in 2016, and Five, which was released last month.

Tickets for the O2 Academy Brixton date go on sale at 9am on 29 March, with tickets priced at £27.50.
