Which celebrities are running the London Marathon this year – from Chris Evans to Kirsty Gallacher?


The London Marathon will feature its fair share of celebrities as usual

The London Marathon is set to take place this Sunday, with around 40,000 people running over 26 miles across the capital.

And among their number will be a whole bunch of famous faces, who’ll be heading across the famous course in aid of a variety of good causes.

But just which famous faces are taking on the challenge this year?

Here’s who you’ll want to be looking out for…

Chris Evans

It’ll be the fifth time that the radio and TV host has run the London Marathon – and he’ll be hoping to beat his previous best time of four hours 39 minutes from 2016. Chris is running this year in aid of Dementia Revolution.

Kirsty Gallacher

The TV presenter is tackling the course in aid of the women’s charity SafeHands For Mothers. ‘I’ve always wanted to do the Marathon – it’s a big personal challenge for me,’ she recently told Hello!

Helen Skelton

The former Blue Peter presenter turned Olympics coverage co-host is running the Marathon for the third time, this time in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Jenni Falconer

Jenni Falconer is no stranger to the London Marathon, having taken part on several occasions, most recently in 2018. She’ll be running this year in aid of The Children’s Trust.

Candice Brown

The 2016 Great British Bake Off winner is swapping the baking tent for the race course, making her London Marathon debut in aid of Dementia Revolution. 

Saffron Lempriere

The TOWIE newcomer is gearing up to take on the London Marathon, running in aid of Children With Cancer UK, in memory of her friend Sammy Jo Brandon, who died of breast cancer last year aged just 29.

A host of familiar faces from EastEnders are joining Scott Mitchell – husband of Barbara Windsor – to run the Marathon in aid of Dementia Revolution and in honour of Windsor who is battling Alzheimers. Among those taking part are Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Jake Wood (Max Branning), Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell), Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler), Kellie Shirley (Carly Wicks), Tanya Franks (Rainie Cross), Jane Slaughter (Tracey) and Jamie Borthwick (Jay Brown).
