Why isn’t Zoe Ball presenting It Takes Two today?

Zoe Ball will be replaced by Gethin Jones on tonight’s Strictly: It Takes Two after falling ill.

The 48-year-old presenter usually hosts the show live on Wednesdays and Thursdays before being joined by Rylan Clark-Neal on Fridays.

However Zoe is unable to host tonight’s instalment, with former Strictly contestant Gethin, 41, filling in for her.

Gethin – who competed in the 2007 series – usually appears on the show on Friday’s, catching up with the contestants while they’re rehearsing at Elstree Studios.

But tonight he will be in the main It Takes Two studio chatting to Will Bayley and Janette Manrara, Alex Scott and Neil Jones, and Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell.

Ian Waite will also be at the studio as usual, as Waite’s Warm Up gets Strictly fans ready for the weekend.

It isn’t the first time Gethin has stood in for Zoe, as he acted as her replacement back in 2017 when she was off sick with a stomach bug.

Zoe usually presents her morning breakfast slot every morning – apart from yesterday and today that is.

And Nicki Chapman of Pop Idol fame is sitting in for the star.

The BBC told The Sun: “Nicki Chapman stood in for Zoe Ball this morning as Zoe is unwell. Zoe will be back on Radio 2 when she is recovered.”

In the mean time Nicki was joined by Wham!’s Andrew Ridgeley for an all-singing all-dancing interview this morning.

How long has Zoe been presenting the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show?

On October 3, 2018, Chris Evans announced live on his  Radio Two Breakfast Show that TV and radio presenter  Zoe Ball would be his replacement.

Her dad is popular TV star Johnny Ball, who was a regular fixture in the 1970s and ’80s on shows including Think of a Number and Play School.

On January 14, 2019, Zoe took over from Chris Evans and became the new Breakfast Show host on Radio 2.
