When Man Utd and Man City target Joao Felix will make transfer decision

Portugal wonderkid Joao Felix will make a decision on his future after the conclusion of the Nations League finals.

Felix made his first international start as Portugal beat Switzerland 3-1 in Porto on Wednesday night following a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick.

It capped off a stunning breakthrough season for the 19-year-old, who is expected to leave Benfica this summer for one of multiple interested European giants.

Manchester City are reportedly leading the face for Felix, with Manchester United and Real Madrid both having approaches rebuffed by Benfica.

Pep Guardiola’s side are understood to be ready to meet his £105m release clause having held a London meeting with Benfica’s president and Felix’s agent, Jorge Mendes, last week to discuss a move.

Having previously poured cold water on the prospect of leaving Benfica, Felix has now admitted he has a decision to make and will do so once the Nations League is concluded.

Felix said: “Now I’m focused on the national team.

“After finishing the Nations League, I’m going to resolve my life.”

With a strong negotiating position, Benfica are set to demand Felix’s release clause is met in order to let him go.

They are reported to have turned down a £80m bid from Real Madrid which would have also seen him loaned back to Portugal for a year.

But he fits United’s bill of trying to add young players to their squad to lead Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rebuild and their interest is not over.

Juventus have also been linked, whilst almost all of Europe’s top clubs have monitored the teenage talent.

Felix bagged 15 goals in 26 appearances as Benfica won the Portuguese top flight, whilst he also provided nine assists and notched a stunning Europa League hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt.
