What Zinedine Zidane said when asked about Real Madrid interest in Paul Pogba

Zinedine Zidane has hinted at a stunning summer move for Paul Pogba.

The Manchester United midfielder has emerged as a transfer target for Real Madrid following Zidane’s return to the Bernabeu.

Pogba admitted playing for the France legend would be a “dream” during the international break and reports this week suggested Real could launch a £135m bid.

Zidane has been tight-lipped about any interest and ahead of his side’s clash with Huesca , he insisted he would not be drawn on any transfer targets.

But he did speak very highly of Pogba, who has been revitalised under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

“I really like Pogba and you know that. I know him very well,” Zidane said in his press conference.

“He’s a different kind of player and he can provide many things because of his skills. He knows how to attack and defend.

“However, he’s not my player. He plays for United and we have to respect that. He’s always said that he likes Madrid.”

Zidane’s comments come amid fresh claims that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has held talks with the European champions.

MARCA claims Raiola has told Real of Pogba’s desire to leave Manchester for Madrid and play for his idol.

Speaking last week, Pogba flirted with Real and suggested he would jump at the chance to move on.

Will Pogba get his wish?

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Pogba said.

“There is also Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football.

“For now, I’m at Manchester. We don’t know what the future holds. I’m at Manchester and I’m happy.”
