Chelsea forward Timo Werner has lifted the lid on the aftermath of Thiago Silva’s wife criticising him during the Blues’ Champions League semi-final.
She wasn’t his only critic as the press also fired shots at the German for his underwhelming performance for the Blues.
Silva said: “This is karma guys. Every team I go to there is a striker who keeps missing goals… this Werner, what is his name?!
“We need a goal, we need to win this match but my attackers don’t want to score, I don’t know why they don’t score.”
Werner has now revealed that his teammate Silva apologised to him the following day.
He told Sky Germany : “Sometimes that can happen when the emotions are overflowing.
“Thiago also apologised directly to me the next day.
“That’s when the matter was ticked off. So I’m all the more happy today, not only for her but also with the other wives of my teammates!
“Hopefully, me and the team can get them to cheer again. It’s for the best that the women that are at home are happy, and that the fans are happy.”
Werner scored in the second leg and City won the tie 3-1 on aggregate.
His improved performance didn’t go unnoticed by Isabella who commented again on the star.
She said: “Werner, very good. That’s what I’m talking about.
“You know how to score a goal. You’re the best, my friend! Love you!”
The team are set to face Chelsea in the Champions League final on May 29.
