Wendy Williams has said that she’s well enough to make her return to TV and that she wants to manage her own money after her show was cancelled.

The presenter, 57, has been out of the spotlight for several months due to complications with Graves’ disease, with a string of stars stepping in to take the reins of The Wendy Williams Show.

Graves’ disease is an autoimmune condition where your immune system mistakenly attacks your thyroid which causes it to become overactive.

It was announced on Tuesday that Sherri Shepherd would be inheriting the time slot with her new series, Sherri, later this year.

On Thursday, Wendy appeared on The Brief View on Good Morning America.

During the segment, she addressed claims that she’s an ‘incapacitated person’ who is suffering from ‘undue influence and financial exploitation’ during the brief interview.

Instead of appearing on camera, she spoke to correspondent TJ Holmes via a phone link.

Asked if she’s of sound mind, the entertainer responded:  ‘Absolutely! Are you?

‘When people want control of their accounts, they say anything, including something crazy like that about me.’

‘They say that I need somebody to handle my account and I don’t want that. I want all my money.

‘I want to see all my money that I’ve worked hard for my entire life. I don’t lie, I don’t cheat and I don’t steal. I am an honest, hard working person.’

During the interview, she also made it clear that her health is nothing to worry about.

Speaking to the host, she said: ‘Health is very well. And I’ve actually had a few appointments. You know, I’m 57 now and I have the mind and body of a 25-year-old.’

She added: ‘This is what I would love to say to my Wendy watchers. Keep watching because I’m going to be back on the Wendy show bigger and brighter than ever.’

Speaking to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson for Wendy said she was assured that ‘should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time.’

‘I’m very comfortable. You know, my partners with the show, everybody’s ready,’ Williams said Thursday, though she later clarified she might need extra time.

Howard Bragman, a spokesman for Wendy, issued a statement shortly thereafter.

He said: ‘It’s been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues.’

Last month, Wendy made an appearance on social media, sharing some adorable snaps from her father’s 91st birthday.

Alongside some photographs of her father, and herself, she wrote the caption: ‘Daddy’s 91st birthday! Enjoying it in the most relaxing way possible.’

It came just days after she posted a video of herself reassuring fans she planned to come back ‘stronger’.

In the video, filmed by her son Kevin Hunter Jr., 21, on the beach in Florida, she said: ‘It’s just after 8 o’clock in the morning and I’m doing OK, you know? It’s very peaceful here.’
