Virgin Galactic is set to launch passengers to the edge space in style.
The company, founded by Richard Branson, has designed an entire wardrobe, complete with a one-piece jump suit, limited jacket and boots to match.
As part of the 90 minute journey and $250,000 travel ticket, customers will get to keep their space clothes after their trip into orbit.
Virgin Galactic has not yet confirmed when it will begin its flights but did note it could be as early as 2020.

The flights would take passengers more than 50 miles high, which is where the edge of space begins
Virgin Galactic’s tourist carrying spacecraft is designed to transport up to six passengers, along with two pilots to the edge of space.
It will float weightless in orbit for about five to 10 minutes and then bring the travelers back to earth, completing a 90 minute trip — and all for a mere $250,000.

Customers will receive a limited edition jacket, base layer, training suit, footwear and space suit.
The blue jumpsuits were developed with a variety of materials that Virgin Galactic claims have been tested ‘rigorously’ in space-like environments.
Each suit is designed with numerous pockets, a gold rectangle inside the chest area where passengers could write a ‘personal mission statement’ for why they want to go to space, the New York Times reported.

Under Armour used new fabrics like Tencel Luxe, SpinIt and Nomex for the lining that are specifically designed for temperature control and moisture management, as Future Astronauts may experience a spectrum of temperatures throughout their journey
And there is padding in the shoulders to elevated pressure from the harness holding them in their seats while taking off and landing.

The firm also incorporated its best performing fabrics that are cooling, smooth, fast-drying, moisture-managing, comfortable and safe – to ensure the most comfort possible.
‘An important part of the suit construction included functional features such as multiple pockets for necessary and personal items including an integrated solution for communications, with a push-to-talk button,’ reads Under Armour’s website.
‘Each spacesuit iteration underwent rigorous testing with key stakeholders in the VG team including pilots, spaceship engineers, medical officers, astronaut instructors and the customer experience team to ensure it would outperform in-flight expectations.’

Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank noted at the event that, although the suits have a Star Trek look, there’s nothing particularly exceptional about them.
They were simply built using off-the-shelf Under Armour technologies and designed with comfort in mind.
The boots form to the exact shape of the wearer’s foot and is cushioned with ‘the softest foams available’.
There is also a graphic inside on the sockliner that reads, ‘We Stand on the Shoulders of Giants,’ inspired by a quote from Sir Isaac Newton that the Virgin Galactic program holds close.

Virgin Galactic’s tourist space suits made their debut a day after NASA revealed variants set to take astronauts to the moon.
The next-generation suit is flexible enough to expand or shrink – within limits – to fit its wearer, and will be used by crew on the Artemis mission in 2024.
NASA showed off both a full suit for extra-vehicular activities on the lunar surface and a flight suit for transit in orbit.
This one has been engineered to remove the need for astronauts to ‘bunny hop’ in order to move around and will allow them to bend down and raise their arms.
The xEMU model provides mobility and flexibility for when exploring the lunar surface and the Orion Crew Survival Suit is to be worn while taking off or landing.
