VIDEO: Twitter erupts as Jeremy Corbyn ignores Boris Johnson in steely Queen's Speech snub

As is tradition, the Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition walked side by side ahead of the Queen’s Speech. They were leading all the MPs in the Commons to the House of Lords where the ceremony would commence. Eagle-eyed viewers of Sky’s coverage caught the awkward small talk between the two party leaders.

In the video, the Prime Minister can be seen turning to Mr Corbyn to speak to him.

The stone-faced Labour leader, however, refused to even glance at the Tory MP, instead staring straight ahead.

He appears to reply to Mr Johnson but the small talk does not progress much further.

Mr Corbyn keeps an eye on the Sky cameraman in front of him, and directs them to move away with a cringe.

One Twitter user picked up on the tension and said: “The way our Prime Minister walked chatting to Corbyn was great. Corbyn showed how arrogant he was by not chatting to him and looking dead ahead.”

Another chimed in with a joke: “Jeremy Corbyn looking very worried about facing Boris Johnson in a general election!”

Even the ITV show Peston found the humour in it, posting a screengrab of Mr Corbyn’s cringe to their Twitter and asking followers to “Caption this please”.

User Gareth Irvine referenced back to the Prime Minister’s viral coffee blunder at the Tory party conference with: “No. Disposable. Cups.”
